A summer World Dance airport rave preserved through a PEZ flyer, five Rave Archive UK recordings and a documented six-tape pack that reveals one known gap.

An airport rave with its own identity
World Dance’s Lydd events formed a distinctive strand of mid-1990s rave culture: large scale, out of town and increasingly jungle-led.
The advertised programme includes Sy, Hype, Ellis Dee, LTJ Bukem, Micky Finn, Darren Jay, Grooverider & Fabio back to back, Kenny Ken, Dr S Gachet, Dougal and Force, with MC GQ named prominently. A second block includes Marshall Jefferson, Luv Dup, Phil Asher, Steve Proctor, Danny Hodges, James ‘Avanti’ Anthony and Adam Carter.
That is the advertised bill rather than a reconstructed running order. The Rave Archive tapes give the night real depth: Kenny Ken, DJ Sy, Ellis Dee, Dr S Gachet and Micky Finn all survive as recordings from 30 July, with GQ’s voice tying much of the surviving sound together.

The documented six-tape pack turns the page into an active archive recovery target rather than a closed list.
A surviving six-cassette Midsummer Dance Party pack lists Micky Finn, Kenny Ken, Dr S Gachet, Ellis Dee, Dougal and Sy, all with MC GQ. Rave Archive UK currently holds five of those six identities.
The documented Dougal tape is therefore a known gap, not a guess. Dr S Gachet’s surviving upload also identifies Andy C, Origin Unknown and Dillinja among its tracks, reinforcing how firmly the sound had moved into jungle by July.
