Dreamscape 12 The August Bank Holiday Showcase
Thirteen Rave Archive UK recordings preserve a broad slice of Dreamscape 12, while the wider tape record identifies fifteen DJ names and one clear recovery gap.
The night at a glance
The thirteen Rave Archive recordings are kept distinct from the wider surviving tape catalogue.
Dreamscape at full 1994 scale
By this point The Sanctuary was no longer simply the room of Dreamscape’s early years; it had become part of a larger multi-arena operation.
Dreamscape’s own history describes the continued expansion of The Sanctuary site, with additional arenas added as the organisation grew. By the mid-1990s the venue could support a far larger and more varied programme than the earliest Dreamscape nights.
Dreamscape 12’s Rave Archive recordings make that range audible: Vibes, Clarkee, Hype, Dougal, Slipmatt, Sy, Swan-E, Kenny Ken, Ray Keith, Mastervibe, LTJ Bukem & Ramos, Vinylgroover and Seduction appear across thirteen surviving transfers, with several MC combinations preserved in the titles as part of the record.
The wider tape catalogue names fifteen DJs. Fourteen are represented here because Bukem and Ramos share one transfer; Trevor Rockliffe is the clearest catalogued gap. That makes him a useful target for future recovery, while the tape catalogue itself is not treated as a definitive advertised lineup or running order.
By August, jungle is all over the dubplate box
One exact-event tracklist gives the wider thirteen-tape page a sharp musical focus.
Ray Keith’s Dreamscape 12 recording runs through Dextrous & Rude Boy Keith, D’Cruze, Shy FX & UK Apache, Q Project, Studio Pressure, Dead Dred, Deep Blue, Foul Play, A-Zone, Cutty Ranks and Omni Trio. That is a serious late-summer 1994 jungle document rather than merely another name in a large Dreamscape pack.
The wider eight-pack catalogue pairs that jungle material with Vinylgroover, Seduction, Vibes, Clarkee, Hype, Dougal, Slipmatt, Sy, Swan-E, Mastervibe, Bukem, Ramos, Kenny Ken and Trevor Rockliffe. The result is a page that can show Dreamscape’s multi-strand scale without pretending every room sounded alike.
