World Dance Lydd International Airport
Lydd International Airport, near Ashford, Kent • Saturday 5 February 1994. The flyer places this all-night event in the airport’s main hangar and warehouse, while six Rave Archive UK recordings preserve the sound of the night.

Broad rave meeting jungle
February 1994 sits in the overlap period when the national rave circuit and the increasingly distinct jungle network were still visibly intertwined. The airport setting belongs to the large-scale rave tradition; the surviving tapes document selectors who were central to the breakbeat and jungle direction becoming more defined through 1994.
The six Rave Archive recordings give the event unusual depth: Food Junkie, Slipmatt with MC GQ, Ellis Dee with MC GQ, Micky Finn with MC GQ, DJ Hype with MC GQ and Kenny Ken with MC GQ.
The event flyer and surviving recording trail place the Ellis Dee set at Lydd on 5 February 1994, alongside the other tapes preserved from the same airport night.
