The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes • 28 February 1992. The second numbered Dreamscape night belongs to the first run that established ESP’s new Sanctuary home as a repeat rave destination rather than a one-off experiment.

The Sanctuary becomes a Dreamscape home
Dreamscape 2 sits only weeks after the birth of Dreamscape at The Sanctuary and shows how quickly the venue/promoter relationship became repeat infrastructure.
Dreamscape’s official history traces the organisation back through ESP and Murray Beetson’s early events before describing the discovery of The Sanctuary as the decisive step that created Dreamscape. The building originally had a much smaller legal capacity; Murray funded additional fire exits so the room could operate at the scale he believed the new rave audience needed.
By 28 February 1992 the experiment had become a series. Dreamscape 2’s surviving recordings place Top Buzz, Grooverider, Bryan Gee, Dougal, Seduction, Ellis Dee, Swan-E, Clarkee and Ray Keith within the sound of that early Sanctuary period. The page does not treat those recordings as the full advertised lineup: they are the part of the night that survives in this archive.
The event’s subtitle — “The Standard Has Been Set” — now reads almost like a statement of intent. The importance of this period is not only individual DJ sets, but the creation of a repeatable combination of promoter, venue, artwork, tape circulation and audience memory.
