The Universe idea gets bigger

Eight months after Out Of This World, the In 2 Orbit flyer shows Universe developing a recognisable visual world around rockets, planets and movement. More importantly, the surviving recording trail shows that the event was being remembered through tapes almost immediately, giving the night a much stronger audible afterlife than the 1991 origin event.

Tape catalogues preserve long recordings from Easygroove and also identify Micky Finn and Ratty among the surviving In 2 Orbit material. Archive playlists additionally preserve Easygroove/Lisa and Grooverider/Producer recordings. One exact Easygroove segment from 1 May 1992 is now linked below while the wider tape trail remains documentary evidence until equally precise player destinations are confirmed.

This is also where the chronology begins to show the artists in context. Easygroove’s presence belongs here in spring 1992, before Universe’s later international-techno push becomes more dominant. The next major record, Pleasure Planet in June, expands the house/breakbeat side even further.

Placed in sequence, the first three records show a fast evolution: the 1991 legal outdoor origin, the 1992 return to the A46 site, then the June move into South Wales for Pleasure Planet. Keeping that order visible is more useful than treating the events as disconnected tape-pack titles.
