Dreamscape 5 Creation of a Nation
Dreamscape took Creation of a Nation north to Hull. Five sets survive, and the flyer record leaves a one-day question over whether the party ran on the 18th or 19th.
Dreamscape 5 at a glance
The date is still a rave-history head-scratcher: Rave Archive has used 18 December, while Phatmedia dates the flyer 19 December.
Dreamscape moves north
Dreamscape 5 is important because it breaks the early run of Sanctuary events and shows the organisation testing its identity at much larger geographic scale.
Dreamscape’s official history describes Dreamscape 5 as the first major collaboration up north, staged at Evolution in Hull. The venue was a converted department store, spread across two floors, and represented a very different environment from The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes.
The five recordings preserved by Rave Archive UK feature Grooverider, Top Buzz, LTJ Bukem with MC Conrad, Clarkee with Bryan Gee and Kenny Ken. Other tape catalogues point to a wider recorded footprint that also includes material associated with Jumping Jack Frost and other Dreamscape 5 tapes not currently playable here.
The date deserves its own note. Rave Archive’s Mixcloud titles and catalogue have long used 18.12.92, while Phatmedia indexes the surviving flyer as 19 December 1992. Both dates stay visible until stronger material settles the difference.
The surviving pack is bigger than five tapes
Dreamscape 5 moved the series to Evolution in Hull and left a substantial recording trail.
Specialist tape indexes document Clarkee / Bryan Gee, Grooverider, Kenny Ken, Jumpin Jack Frost / LTJ Bukem, Swan-E / Dougal and Top Buzz among the surviving Dreamscape 5 material. That wider footprint matters because the five recordings currently playable here are the Rave Archive holdings, not a claim that only five sets survived.
The page also keeps the date discrepancy visible. Rave Archive UK has long carried 18 December 1992, while a flyer catalogue indexes the event as 19 December. Until stronger primary material resolves that mismatch, preserving the disagreement is more honest than quietly choosing whichever date looks tidier.
