Raindance & Head NYE Big Bad Head Arena
Great Dalby Airfield, Melton Mowbray • 31 December 1991. The surviving event material points to a joint Raindance and Head New Year’s Eve rave, with “Big Bad Head” belonging to the Head-branded side of the night rather than replacing the identity of the whole event.
One rave, two promoter identities
The Carl Cox tape circulated for years under the shorter “Raindance — Big Bad Head” wording, which can make Big Bad Head look like the title of the whole rave. The event material gives a more precise picture: this was a joint Raindance and Head New Year’s Eve event at Great Dalby Airfield, and Big Bad Head belongs to the Head-branded side of that larger event.
The recording title remains part of the archive because that is how the tape survived. The wider event identity is kept alongside it so the recording and the rave are both represented accurately.
