Six tapes from AWOL’s Paradise era
Live in London Vol 1 carries six surviving RAUK transfers from the period when AWOL and the Paradise Club had become central to London’s rapidly hardening jungle sound. Darren Jay, Micky Finn, Dr S Gachet, DJ Ron, Kenny Ken and Randall appear with MC GQ, giving the volume a consistent voice as well as a recognisable DJ core.
Secondary tracklist archives identify individual Vol 1 copies as May 1994. The Rave Archive transfers themselves were preserved under the broader Paradise Club — Summer 94 identity, and no surviving primary event material fixes a calendar day. The date therefore remains Summer 1994 rather than turning a tape-date convention into a precise event claim.
A commercial AWOL catalogue lists a similar six-name Volume 1 pack but gives one name as DJ Jon. Rave Archive UK’s manually preserved transfer identifies DJ Ron. Both versions survive in the wider tape history; the playable copy here is DJ Ron.
