Jungle Mania The Final Curtain
New London Astoria • Saturday 25 March 1995. The flyer billed this as Jungle Showtime ’95 — The Final Curtain and explicitly called it the last Jungle Mania at the Astoria. Four Rave Archive UK recordings survive here, while Dr S Gachet and Darren Jay remain known tapes to recover.
The Astoria chapter closes
The wording on the flyer matters: Jungle Mania was not simply promoting another London date, it was marketing this one as “The Last Jungle Mania at the Astoria.” By spring 1995 the brand had already built a run of large central-London jungle nights, and the Final Curtain framed this event as the end of that particular venue chapter.
The main-arena flyer bill includes Jumping Jack Frost, DJ Rap, Micky Finn, Brockie, S.L, Younghead, Gachet, Darren Jay, Devious Dee and Twilight. The second arena advertises Ash A Tak, Red Ant, Crossfader, Demolition Kru and Killer. That advertised bill is broader than the tape pack that survives today.
Rave Archive UK currently preserves Devious Dee with MCMC, Ray Keith with MCMC, Brockie & DJ Rap with Navigator & MCMC, and Jumpin Jack Frost with Stevie Hyper D & MCMC. Archive notes describe this as the fourth and final Jungle Mania event at the Astoria before the brand moved on to East London venues.
