Birmingham’s Que Club in the 1994 crossover

By September 1994, the split between hardcore, jungle and the emerging drum & bass identity was already visible in who was playing together and how events were being packaged. Pure X and Hysteria’s A Journey For Your Mind sits directly inside that period, with the surviving tapes spanning Grooverider, Rap, Slipmatt, GE Real, Clarkee and Sy alongside a dense MC presence.

Several old Mixcloud paths contain “sanctuary”, but the flyer and corrected event information point to Birmingham’s Que Club. Those historic URLs stay untouched so the recordings remain reachable, while the page uses the actual venue.

Later six-pack listings are useful for identifying other surviving material, but they do not define the story of the night or provide a reliable running order.
