Desire Breaks & Beats
Island Music Arena, Ilford • Saturday 8 March 1997. Eight direct Rave Archive UK recordings survive from Breaks & Beats, preserving Randall, Hype, SS, Ellis Dee, Zinc, Phantasy, Flapjack and Sandman with the original MC combinations kept in the archive titles.
The archive story
Eight tapes from the Island
The surviving RAUK copies move from Randall and Hype through SS, Ellis Dee and Zinc to Phantasy, Flapjack and Sandman. The MC combinations make the pack more useful than a simple DJ list: GQ, Rage, Five-O, Fearless, Stevie Hyper D and Marv all survive inside the recording identities.
MixesDB also lists DJ Flapjack at Desire, The Island, Ilford, on 8 March 1997, matching the event, date and venue carried by the Rave Archive artwork and audio.
The eight linked RAUK recordings cover eight of the nine DJ entries preserved in the later Breaks, Beats, Drum & Bass tape catalogue. Kenny Ken is the missing recovery target: a 57:53 recording is documented for the exact event, but no verified RAUK Mixcloud upload has been located, so no player link is being guessed.
