Fantazia One Step Beyond
Castle Donington • Saturday 25 July 1992. Fantazia’s One Step Beyond belongs to the huge-scale outdoor phase of early-1990s rave: a Castle Donington event preserved through original archive artwork and four Rave Archive UK recordings.
Fantazia at big-event scale
One Step Beyond captures the point where Fantazia had become one of the defining names of the mass-rave era. Castle Donington gave the event a setting already associated with major live gatherings, while Fantazia brought the production language, artwork and multi-DJ rave identity of 1992.
The surviving Rave Archive tapes let the event be heard from several directions rather than through one famous set. SS and Seduction, Ellis Dee and DJ Dream, Easygroove, and Donovan Bassline Smith all survive as Rave Archive UK recordings.
The four tapes are what the archive can verify directly. They are not presented as an invented complete lineup or timetable.
