About Toddy Tempo<\/h2>

Toddy Tempo’s roots behind the decks stretch back to the 1990s, when he played smaller clubs as a youngster under the name Allan T. He later spent many years disconnected from the music scene, building a career in the demanding corporate world of technical support, IT and telecommunications. Although music remained part of his life, DJing and the scene he had once known gradually became part of the past.<\/p>

Years of pressure eventually took their toll. Following the loss of employment and a breakdown, Toddy found himself struggling with depression, trauma and suicidal thoughts. During the isolation and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, music became a way back \u2014 something positive to focus on, a way to begin rebuilding and a means of reconnecting with people.<\/p>

What began as a deeply personal return to DJing developed into the identity of Toddy Tempo and a renewed sense of purpose. That experience also created a desire to use music to connect with and support others facing depression, isolation and suicidal thoughts. The next major step was entering the MixMaster UK DJ competitions, reaching the semi-final in 2020 and returning as a finalist in 2021.<\/p>

What began as competing quickly became something bigger. Toddy moved behind the scenes into competition management and technical support, helping other DJs get set up and bringing together the music, streaming technology and team-building skills that now define his role.<\/p>

Today, Toddy continues to play and collaborate while managing the live-streaming side connected with Rave Archive. ToddyTempo.com brings that operation together: the DJs, the live sessions and the personalities behind them, while Rave Archive remains the home of the wider archive, history and rave culture.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sound & DJ Identity<\/h2>

Toddy has never fitted neatly into one genre. His recorded catalogue has moved through house and progressive sounds, techno, acid and tech house, Makina and Drum & Bass. The common thread is the journey of the mix: longer transitions, building energy and playing a set as a complete session rather than chasing a single genre label.<\/p>

Today the focus is firmly on live DJ sessions, collaborations and sets played and recorded in real time. Selected finished sessions then continue through Mixcloud, social channels and the Toddy Tempo audio feed.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n

Before Toddy Tempo, there was Allan T. A Desire to DJ<\/strong> tells Allan’s own musical story of battling depression and making the decision to pursue DJing again as the next step in his recovery. It represents the point where looking backwards began to turn into looking forwards: rediscovering a passion, rebuilding an identity and deciding that music could once again have a meaningful place in his life.<\/p>
